The humble receipt is a standard part of any POS transaction when accepting credit and card payments or cash. What a lot of businesses don’t realise is that they are your secret weapon in getting more sales. In the past, a receipt was really just there as proof of purchase for your customers, but POS technology has moved on so much now. This has allowed your receipts to become a key marketing tool to attract more repeat custom and business. You give the receipt out anyway, so why not make it work for you too?
Here are three ways to increase sales with POS receipts.
Get your logo on there
This is pretty basic but very effective so worth mentioning. Logos have long been known as a great way to build your brand recognition. They give a visual and engaging way to help customers remember who you are and what you do. By putting your logo on each receipt, then they will remember you more when they next need the services you offer.
Set up a survey
One of the major ways a lot of companies are using POS receipts now to drive future sales is including survey details on them. Usually, this is also with a prize available for one customer that is drawn out at random. The data you gain will allow you to improve your service and gain more sales in the future. It will also help build your brand image and make people want to do business with you.
Coupons or special offers
The real key to increasing sales with POS receipts is making sure customers return again and again. A great way to do this is by including coupon codes or special offers details at the bottom of the receipt. This gives them a superb incentive to return and buy more.
If you are not using your POS receipts to drive sales, then it is a strategy worth considering. The real beauty is that it does not require much extra time or effort as you are giving the receipts out anyway when card payment processing, for example. The above tips are just a few to get you started on just what you can achieve with your POS receipts.
