Press Release: Mark Prisk, Conservative MP Supports Chip & PIN Solutions’ 10 Year Anniversary

Mark Prisk, Conservative MP

Mark Prisk, Conservative MP and former Business Minister, supports Chip & PIN Solutions’ decade of success in the payments industry.

Mark Prisk, Conservative MP for East Herts and 2010 appointed Business Minister, has visited the UK’s leading provider of card payments, Chip & PIN Solutions, to congratulate them on their 10 Year anniversary at their Head Office this week.

Since 2002, Mark has served on the Conservative front bench as Shadow Financial Secretary to the Treasury, Shadow Paymaster General and then Home Affairs Whip. In December 2005, he was made Shadow Spokesman for Business & Enterprise. Amongst many of Mark Prisk’s parliamentary interests, after running his own business for ten years before entering politics, he is passionate about supporting SME businesses.

“New businesses are the lifeblood of a healthy economy, helping to create jobs and growth. That’s why we will keep supporting hardworking people who aspire to start their own businesses”, commented the MP.

In May 2010 Mark Prisk was appointed Minister for Business, Innovation and Skills. As Business & Enterprise Minister, Mark had responsibility for key business sectors, including manufacturing, construction & professional services. In this role he led the modernisation of UK construction procurement; oversaw the Government’s deregulation of businesses; and helped lead the creation of 39 local Enterprise Partnerships delivering local growth.

After hearing about the success of Chip & PIN Solutions and their impressive portfolio of companies that they provide card payment machines for such as, Virgin Trains, The AA, Indesit, Flybe, and Liverpool Football Club, Mark Prisk was very interested to visit their Head Office and learn more about their rapidly growing operations.

Mr Prisk, was particularly interested in Chip & PIN Solutions’ new financing solution, Merchant Fund. The product is a business cash advance based on the average card takings with an auto approval of up to £15,000. Unlike the banks, no security or credit checks are required, and funds are generally available within a matter of days.

The MP was impressed with the products’ ability to support businesses in today’s economic environment through the provision of access to immediate funding to help them grow their business and maintain a healthy cash flow.

David Maisey, Managing Director, thanked the Conservative MP for taking the time out of his busy schedule especially with the elections fast approaching. David stated, “It was a delight to meet Mark Prisk. He was very interested in the journey of Chip & PIN Solutions and our expansion plans for 2015.”

Mr Prisk even spent some time with their customer service team, and some customers found it very amusing to have their call answered by the MP.

“He was very keen to test our phones, and was a great addition to our department”, commented Robert Murphy, Head of Logistics & Customer Services.

Earlier this year, Mark Prisk MP, welcomed the announcement of new funding to support businesses and infrastructure in East Herts – helping businesses to create new jobs and train more young people. Recent figures show that since the launch of this new initiative, the Government’s Start-Up Loans Scheme has helped 9 entrepreneurs in East Herts set up their own business. Across the country 10,000 Start-Up Loans have now been awarded, worth a total of £50 million.

Mark Prisk was interested to hear about Chip & PIN Solutions’ success story and how they add great value to the local economy, by employing a number of local people and supporting businesses nationwide with their payment needs. “We pride ourselves on delivering each and every one of our clients with the highest level of customer care. Every part of our operation is UK based and that is what sets us apart from our competitors” explains David Maisey.

Mark Prisk added, “Chip & PIN Solutions has proved highly successful in helping businesses adapt to modern cashless trading. As more and more transactions go on-line, it’s clear that this business is ahead of its competition. It’s great to see such an innovative thriving firm with exciting growth plans for 2015.”
